I still have this set after using it more than a decade, probably closer to two decades. I also have a comparable (non-Sculptured) Pyrex set. Both were made in the USA. There is a visible difference between how Anchor Hocking and Pyrex handle usage over time. My Anchor Hocking set is so scratched and cloudy one can barely see through the glass anymore; the bottoms are white from scuff marks. My Pyrex set is still clear. Both sets are still complete, none have broken. The Anchor Hocking bowls have straighter sides which are better for mixing. The Pyrex set has sloped sides which is better for stirring, and they have a lip for easier handling. If I were to buy another set of glass bowls again, I would choose the Pyrex Prepware Sculptured 6-Piece Serving Bowl Set, Clear with Blue Lids for prettier serving and better storage (hint: shop around for better price at world kitchen), and I would buy a good stainless steel set of bowls for serious mixing. But these bowls have served their purpose and will no doubt continue to do so for many more years.

The mixing bowls are heavy duty and shaped perfectly for mixing. You can hammer away at it with anything and not be afraid of it shattering or chipping. I'd even garner that it could survive a couple hard falls on the floor off the counter. For the $12.99, it's a solid deal and gives you 3 mixing bowls that will last you a long time.

After learning my son has high levels of aluminum and other heavy metals, I've decided to revamp my kitchen supplies and glass bowls where second on my list after enameled cookware. I decided to purchase Anchor bowls because they are a nice thick and sturdy glass bowl perfect for using with a hand mixer. Definitely pleased with this product. I prefer it over pyrex.
