 "Does NOT pour cleanly" 2010-02-20
By B. Walsh (NorCal)
Liquids sheet down the side of the cup and off the bottom rather than pouring out in a clean arc. I've tried varying the angle and speed of the pour with no improvement.

 "Good Product" 2010-01-17
By CWW
I don't understand all the comments about boiling coffee on top of a stove and not expecting a bad outcome. Pyrex clearly states that you shouldn't do this. Also, from my chem major days, decades ago, I don't recall using Pyrex measuring glass to boil things on top or stoves.

This measuring cup is great to microwave sauces, puddings, candy, etc. and that is primarily what I use it for. I previously had an Anchor Hocking 8 cup measuring cup that I broke(not on a stove top, but by dropping a jar on it - don't use these things for wash basins!) and got the Pyrex because it was cheaper than the Anchor Hocking 8 cup. The Anchor Hocking design has a better handle and etched measuring lines. The Pyrex has a steeper design so it is slightly less likely to boil over. Also, the measure lines are painted on the Pyrex so they are easier to read but may wash off over time if you use a dishwasher.

"A Very Useful Product Not Now Available in the UK" 2009-12-16
By R. S. Walker (Surrey UK)
This measuring jug was purchased to replace one that had been in use for many years but which, unfortunately, had been broken. The original was purchased in the UK and Pyrex is generally available for some reason this jug is no longer sold here. A replacement was therefore purchased from Amazon in the US for delivery to a contact there who was coming to England for Christmas. It has just arrived and is a perfect replacement. Even "litre" is spelt the way we do! The fact that so much trouble was taken to obtain a replacement demonstrates just how useful this item is. It is used both for measuring and as a mixing bowl. Perhaps Amazon UK should import some from the US where they are made!

"DANGER! Not real Pyrex! Exploding Junk!" 2009-11-30
By H. Whitney (tennessee)
This is NOT real Pyrex! It is NOT high-temp glass! It explodes in medium-temp heat! Lucky our 3-year old was not in the kitchen when ours blew up, shattered--it sent glass pieces all over the kitchen. JUNK!!! Should get ZERO stars.

"Pyrex IS the same as it's been for the last 60+ years" 2009-11-26
By A Customer (Silver Spring, MD USA)
See the snopes web site for a debunking of the myth that Pyrex is now more subject to breakage than it used to be. Highlights: YES, Pyrex is no longer made by Corning; but NO, the kind of glass did not change after the Pyrex brand was sold---Corning used soda-lime glass for about 60 years before selling the brand.
