I wanted some small ramekins and these stackable ones caught my attention because the larger ones I have don't stack well making them a total pain to store. These ramekins stack very straight and securely. If a larger stackable size becomes available I'll get those and donate the ones I have to Goodwill.
This smaller size is perfect for individual dips, sauces, au jus, nuts and to store small amounts of leftovers. I also prefer this smaller size for super rich desserts such as crème brûlée and my favorite recipe for a sinful, death-by-chocolate mousse. For some odd reason it isn't indicated in the description that these ramekins are oven and microwave safe. The package indicates they are and I've used them both in my oven and microwave with no problems.
