Okay, this isn't a standard use, but I bought these to use as water and food dishes for my pet mice. They like dishes better than bottles, and these won't tip over. They're the perfect size, and cheaper than bowls marketed specifically for pets.

After receiving the first order of these I liked them so much I placed a second order. Each set of 6 is packed well in their individual 6 compartment boxes from the manufacturer, however the shipper (hint hint...) could pack them a little better to protect them from bouncing around in the larger shipping box. After all they are porcelain and fragile if dropped! I did have a few that arrived chipped because of this. The product itself is very nice though and you will be pleased.

I bought a set of these to use for mise-en-place, to hold small amounts of herbs & spices when prepping for cooking. They turned out to be such a great deal I'm going to order a 2nd set. Each one holds exactly 2 tablespoons, they're made of very nice porcelain, and because of the lipped edge they stack very tidily. (And I suppose if you were a fancy cook, you could use them to create tiny individual souffles to accompany desserts or meat dishes.)
A very handy cooking tool!
