This product is advertised as all metal. I was disappointed when I received mine to discover that the plunger inside the tube, which take all the pressure of pressing cookie dough, is plastic. With every other cookie press I have had, this essintial part is usually the first part to break. But, I'll try it and see what happens.

This is the cookie press to get. But be warned -- lots of traditional recipes are inappropriate for the press so don't expect this to be a panacea. Delicate butter-based doughs that need to be rolled out thin (the ones that taste the best) don't fare so well. For them, the old-fashioned way -- rolling and cutting -- is irreplaceable.

The cookie press is first rate, constructed of stainless steel, rather than flimsy plastic, plus it's easy to use. The only shortcoming is the lack of a place to store the disks. It would have made sense, to provide some form of container, for disk storage. As it is, they tend to get misplaced.

I own other Kaiser products, and was looking forward to enjoying this one. However, it is clunky, not easy to use and I sent it back post haste! I own a Kuhn Rikon which is not perfect, but usable. The cookie press is a product that needs to be re-invented, I think.

Use this product for a while and feel the pain in your fingers and wrist. I would not recommend it for anyone.
