 "Better than pie pans" 2010-09-18
By S. Bedrick (Long Island, NY)
I've used a variety of containers for breading fish and chicken, including pie pans, dinner plates, and Pyrex containers. None was exactly what I needed - some weren't deep enough, or long enough to properly bread the food. Paula Deen has designed trays that work very well for me. I don't waste bread crumbs or eggs (Eggbeaters), and every piece of fish and chicken has fit in just fine. They hook together so nothing drips as I move food from one tray to another, and they neatly stack so they don't take up storage space.

One reviewer, who admitted to not having used them, complained that they can't be put in the dishwasher. They don't need heavy-duty washing - everything wipes right out of them - nothing sticks. This complaint seems frivolous.

This isn't a "have to have" kitchen item, but they are very handy.

"I Confess; Pot Calling the Kettle Black.." 2010-01-01
By Mirror Lake's BB (Mirror Lake, NH)
I confess for being the pot calling the kettle black. I can't stand reading recipe reviews where the reviewer gives it five stars, hasn't tried the recipe and says it looks "yummy". I haven't tried this product and wouldn't buy it but gave it three stars as a neutral.

That being said, could someone explain to me why these breading pans are nonstick and therefore NOT recommended to be put in the dishwasher? To me this is like a dinner plate; not baked with but the convenience of just popping in a dishwasher is a must. I can see only one reason and that being that the same manufacturer that makes her other "Signature" baking products (all seemingly nonstick) also makes these; somewhat an economy of motion where the factory is already set up for nonstick. To me there was no sensible thought put into this product and you have to wonder how much was put into her other products. And $30 for these! Go to Chefs or Williams-Sonoma and get a set of stainless steel pans for about the same price.

I also wonder why Super Saver Shipping is available for these breading pans from [...] and not for her other Signature bakeware? Overpriced. Put Paula in the same group as RR.
