 "Great for Microwave Heating!" 2009-05-30
By A. Thomas (San Diego, CA)
I could only find 1-Quart Pyrex bowls combined with two other larger bowls at the local Meglo-Mart which I already had and rarely use. I needed a few more of these 1 quart bowls which I tend to use everyday for heating up lunch and dinner foods (and they work great as a "Jethro BoDean" cereal bowls as well! (Beverly Hillbillies). The rim on the bowl works well to both hold plastic wrap down tight and provide a "cool-enough" place to grab strait out of the microwave. I suspect the lip would be handy for mixing bowl purposes as well.

Highly Recommended!

 "Great bowl" 2009-04-01
By Keezy (Richmond, VA)
Durable, great for cooking, can go from fridge to microwave. I already have a 3-bowl set and find this size to be the most useful so I ordered some more of these 1-qt bowls.

I wish they made a smaller one, like pint size, I would buy it as well.

I already had a set of these bowls that I had gotten as a wedding gift 15 years ago and now with 7 kids, I find I needed more of them. I was excited to see Amazon had them for sale.

The bowls are a heavy glass and stand up to many years of mixing, baking, and cooking. They can even go in the oven. I highly recommend these bowls.

"Perfect Size for a large bowl of soup!" 2008-11-10
By Charles Evans (North Carolina)
I know that my title for this review is a bit odd, but it is the truth! I fond that standard bowls are a little too small for cans of "Chunky" or "Healthy Sensations" soup. In standard bowl the soup comes within 1/2" of the top which makes transporting a your steamy hot soup a bit hazardous. This is not a problem with the Pyrex Prepware 1-Quart bowl!

Other features that we like-

- Completely microwave safe

- Scratch resistant

- Well-made and strudy

- Classic design

- Pyrex means that they offer some level of shock resistance

- Great value.

While these bowls may not be your choice for a nice get together they work very well for lunch!

5 Stars

This is an excellent purchase. It's well balanced, strong, stacks easily in my cupboard. Goes in microwave or oven. Perfect for a small mixing job, or even to eat a big salad out of in front of the TV!

 "freezer boxes" 2008-10-31

Boxes are made of the softer, more pliable plastic, which I prefer. Sturdy and stackable. Will buy more.

 "better than baggies" 2008-08-08

you just can't improve on the old standby. I have a large garden and these are great for freezing everything. They are much stronger than the plastic semi disposables at the store.I had a hard time finding them though, nobody seems to carry them. So when I found them this time I ordered 60.

 "Function with great stacking" 2009-12-11
By Just outside Nowhere (Lost in Kentucky)
The Pyrex Prepware measuring cups are great as they are comfortable to use (handle and weight), durable, AND the stack conveniently inside each other minimizing cabinet space.

 "Not essential, but useful" 2009-11-10
By E. M. Van Court (Honolulu, Hawai'i, USA)
The Pyrex 1 quart measuring cup is not an essential kitchen item like the Pyrex Prepware 2-Cup Measuring Cup, Clear with Red Measurements, but certainly has a role for some people.

Pyrex makes first rate kitchen glassware. It can handle heat or cold safely, and stands up to normal uses for decades.

The two main uses for the one quart measuring 'cup': for cooking for larger groups, and microwaving larger amounts of liquid stuff. When cooking for more than four or so, it is convenient to measure larger quantities at a time. You're doubling a recipe that calls for one and a half cups of something? No worries, pour once and on to the next thing. For microwaving, Pyrex works like a champ. The one quart size makes a large batch of hot liquid easy with the microwave, and you can watch the progress (if needed) through the sides.

I don't use it daily, but I'm sure many people do.

"Every kitchen should have a couple of these" 2009-10-16
By Joseph Dewey (Orem, UT USA)
I'm a bachelor, and this is the ultimate thing for your kitchen. It's indestructable, you can microwave it, you can put it in the oven, and you can actually even cook it on your stove like a pot.

So, if you're in a pinch, this can replace the following: Pots, pans, water boiler, casserole dish, cups, mugs, bowls, plastic measuring cups.

I always use this to make Jell-O, because I make the fast Jell-O where right after I boil it, I cool it rapidly with ice.

It's about half as tall as the usual version. I'm pretty sure that's so it can stack with the ones that are only 2 cups. And 1 Quart = 4 cups, if you don't want to zoom in on the picture.

"Every kitchen gotta have one of these.." 2009-09-02
By H. Dinh (OKUSA)
I bought this cup because I am tired of using my 1-cup Pyrex too many time for a big mixing job. This is a really nice size, you can mix everything in it and pour. I used this cup to make yogurt and flan.

You can never go wrong with a Pyrex. It will last longer than you!

 "Very handy measuring cup." 2009-05-20

This is the perfect size to beat up eggs for scrambled eggs, when you would like to mix several liquids for a recipe, etc. Very handy, a must for cooks and bakers'.
