These pyrex dishes are just right for holding ingredients while preparing dishes. Also perfect for custards, jello and other desserts. Even useful as water dishes for the kitties! Clean up beautifully in the dishwasher. Recommended.

When one buys a book, a CD, a DVD from Amazon it is packed so securely that one needs a knife to cut the plastic shrink wrap. However, the product is received in good order.
How much more important, then, to use proper packing material when shipping a pyrex product - - glass. This company packed two Pyrex Bakeware Custard Cups (set of four per package, for a total of eight) one on top of another. There was no attempt to wrap the two packages independently. The company threw a few shipping "peanuts" into the box and shipped it. Net result as one might expect...one of the custard cups shattered into a thousand little pieces which spread through the entire box.
To their credit, the merchant did make good by sending a replacement custard cup. This cup was packaged much better (paper wrapped around the cup and many more shipping "peanuts").
Dealing with a box full of glass shards is not fun. I understand shipping material costs money; I really don't care, factor the packaging cost into the overall cost.

These bowls are just so handy. They can go in the freezer or the microwave without any problems. Great for leftovers. Although tough, they usually will smash if you drop them on hard tile from a kitchen counter - but amazingly, not every time! Since I am now down to only 2 left from my previous set, I ordered this one. The rim is slightly thicker and a little more flared than the previous set (about 5 years old), so they aren't exactly the same, but they still stack. There are 4 bowls in this set.

These little bowls are great for:
holding that last bit of leftovers; or
using as a dip holder in the center of a large plate; or
warming up the baby's rice cereal; or....on and on.
I have had a couple of sets of these in my kitchen for years. They've been dropped, baked, boiled. Indestructable. Indispensable.
