These lightweight plates and bowls are beautifully shaped and have the look of fine china. They compliment the Asian motif in my kitchen, but could certainly coordinate with any modern look. I've had them for about a year and they're holding up very well with no chips or scratches. I would love it if rounded cups were also offered, since the shape that comes with this set is not my favorite as a tea drinker.

After owning Portmeirion Botanic Garden for 20 years and not having any scratches, my biscuit dinner plates were completely scratched up after about 5 uses. I've tried washing the marks off with baking soda and with toothpaste and nothing works. When I emailed the Portmeirion company about my concern they told me it was the grade of my cutlery. I've been using the same Ralph Lauren cutlery for 20 years on my Botanic Garden and haven't had any issues. I've also used it on some Denby plates with no issues. I wonder if it's really due to the ridges in the Sophie Conran plates. The bowls and mugs look great. I love the style and the color but do not know what to do with all the dark marks on my plates. This line just doesn't seem to be the same high quality as Botanic Garden.

Both the buttery color and handcrafted shapes give a beautiful look to this place setting. The dishes are light weight(like other Portmeirion dishes), and chip resistent. They stack nicely in the cabinets and fit easily in the dish washer. Comes in a pretty box that is nice enough to re-purpose.
