I had a set of Pyrex storage bowls, but needed more so I bought these on sale. My mother in law has the same set. The reasons I am giving this product only two stars are:
1) The lid is really not good. Even though the directions say the its microwave and dishwasher safe, I never used them that way. The lids are starting to fall apart with very light house hold usage. My mother-in-law had the same issue, so we tried to order extra lids. Eventually, we ended up getting Pyrex lids for these.
2) The glass used is OK, not the best quality.
In conclusion, I have to buy some more glass storage for my mom. But I would rather pay few dollars more and get Pyrex (which has lasted me longer w/ no problems) than theses.

I bought these storage container about 2 months ago and LOVE them so far. I can heat them in the microwave, they don't stain, and the odor from past dishes washes right off! They seem really durable so far and I would have given them five stars other than the lids which seem cheap and don't look like they will last as long as the container itself. However, this brand and particular package was by far the best bang for the buck!

One of the bowls in this 36 piece set arrived broken for me also. I also ordered the Pyrex 18 piece round set with this order. Those bowls arrived intact and also seem to be better quality. Save yourself the trouble, skip ordering this product!

just as the other reviewer noted, the product is great (nice heavy glass, well-fitted lids that can easily run through the dishwasher), but only if yours happens to arrive intact. i ordered two boxes and in both cases found the bottom round bowls that were nested together had turned into glass hunks and dust. besides the obvious safety issues, this is just such an avoidable waste of time for everyone involved-more padding in the box bottom would have easily prevented the breakage. not feeling comfortable returning boxes full of broken glass, i have put a call into the manufacturer for individual replacement pieces. will update with results!
Update: Just a few days after calling Anchor Hocking, I received replacements for the broken pieces. Much better than trying to send everything back to Amazon and risking another box of broken stuff. Thanks, Anchor Hocking! Product is now worthy of 5 stars :).

Nothing wrong with the product but packaged poorly....ultimately recieved 6 sets...4 out of six sets had broken pieces. Eventually gave up trying to get the three unbroken sets that I originally ordered.

1. The largest bowl was broken when the package reach me.
2. In the picture, the bowls look big. Lesson: It will be good to first look at bowls with similar dimensions in real life before buying online.

I was looking for something that I could take my lunch to work so that I wouldn't have to carry so many containers, and this is the perfect size. It holds just the right amount for me, although I wouldn't use it for salads because as much as I love salad, this container wouldn't be big enough. I also wouldn't recommend putting liquids in it, unless you're sure that you can keep the container upright; otherwise, the liquid will leak out.
I, also, am trying to get away from using plastic containers in the microwave, and Pyrex (without the lids) are fantastic; they are easy to clean, don't hold odors, and I have no problems with the lid(s) not fitting. Pyrex gets a "thumbs-up" from me.

I'm trying to exchange all my plastic food storage to glass. I don't microwave in plastic, and you can't put plastic in the oven, so it just makes sense to me to store food in the same container you heat it in. I bought several shapes and sizes of these and I'm happy with them all. They go straight from freezer to refer or cold oven. Have not checked for leakage - just makes sense to keep them upright to me as I don't believe they are designed to be leakproof like Tupperware.

Dish is great but description is all wrong. Based on the dimensions, this would be 39 cups not 3. It's a 3 quart dish and the dimensions are the shipping box. It's much smaller

These are great for packing lunches. When putting away the leftovers from dinner I use these for the purfect portion for the next days lunch. They are also good to freeze future lunches that can be used as needed. Sure saves money not going out to lunch daily & much healthier. I own a dozen of these babies. Dishwaser safe & a lot better than plastic containers. Only the lid is plastic & can be taken off before microwaving. Glass is the way to go.

I've had a set of these bowls for years now. I love them. I don't expect them to be water-proof (because they definitely are not) and we don't use the lids in the microwave. Also, about the lids - they don't seem to hold on to odor like other plastics - which I'm very sensitive to. We used to stack the bowls and have trouble periodically separating them (and be afraid of breaking them) - but we just layer a piece of paper towel between each bowl and we never have an issue.

I was trying to get out of the bad habit of reheating my lunch in those plastic containers, when I found these. I love them!! They are the perfect portion control size for me. They travel well, and heat up the food well. Just be careful when removing the bowl from the microwave. The glass is hot. (It's a conductor, you know.) :)
I'm very pleased with my purchase. My husband also takes his lunch in these. They are great for storing leftovers, as well.

After reading the reviews for both Pyrex and Glassock containers I decided to buy a couple of the 2 cup size just to find out if I would like them and if they'd be useful for my lifestyle. I went to a large chain store, found both brands and spent a little time trying to compare them.
1 - In addition to both being freezer and microwave oven safe the Pyrex brand is safe for the conventional oven and Glasslock is not. Is that really a big deal? Truthfully I don't know.
2 - The Pyrex will nest just a scosh and the Glasslock will only stack.
3 - I like the locking feature of the Glasslock lids, you know when they are locked. The Pyrex lid does fit tightly and I doubt it would leak as long as you make sure it is secure.
Once I got home and washed my new purchase it was time to see if the 2 cup size was right for me. I got out the stew I'd made last night, scooped some into the new vessel then dumped that into a soup bowl. Son of a gun, 2 cups is the right size.
Oh yeah, I bought the Pyrex this time but may consider trying the square Glasslock, both brands are quality products.

These are the best little dishes for taking lunch to work. I now own 8 in this (most useful) size. When I make a curry or stir-fry to take for lunch I create lunch portions right in these bowls and stack them up in the fridge. Makes it very easy to grab one and run out the door.

I love these pyrex dishes--to the point of obsession. Freezer, Oven, Microwave, Fridge... LOVE IT! But 11.99 for ONE 2 cup bowl? INSANITY!!!! On this very site you can find sets on sale for the same price with TWO of these bowls and OTHER pieces! Even when they're not on sale, you can buy a set with SEVERAL pieces for under $20. I just wanted some more of these 2 cup containers (storing homemade baby food in freezer--dont want plastic) and was offended yesterday to see Target wanted just under $6. But this... is nuts!!!! Look further. Dont buy at this price.

I have been SO concerned about the dangers of plastic-leaching and assumed that there wasn't much to choose from in the way of glass storage containers and that it would be too expensive to buy, but I was wrong on both counts! I love the Pyrex glass storage ware. It is very thick, in my opinion, and the lids are very easy to get on if you start at one end and "smooth" your way around. My lids have all fit well. Also, the design of these lids makes them easier to clean. All the previous plastic container lids I've owned have had a very narrow opening on the underside edge where the container fits into the lid. These crevices can trap bits of food (usually sauces gone astray in my experience) and can be very difficult to clean. The Pyrex lids have a wide lip that can easily be wiped out. I haven't tried liquids in them yet to know about leakage, but I'm sold on them for carrying lunches, storing all kinds of cooked foods, raw vegetables, etc. in the refrigerator, and have put a bunch of them in the freezer also with lunches in them. They clean up in a SNAP (the round ones are easier to clean than the square one because of having no corners), and they seem very sturdy and well-made. The red lids are a little garish and overly bright in my opinion and are not truly red, so I much prefer the blue ones, but in the end it doesn't matter that much since they're just for food storage! I purchased 3 different sets of the Pyrex glass storage and love them all. A lot of them nest together to save space also, which helps in storing all of these! I've already gotten rid of the majority of my plastic ware, and I just got a new Pyrex set yesterday, so I'll be getting rid of more of the plastic now! The 4-cup size is great for ALL KINDS of things and is my very favorite lunch size, and the 2-cup containers are my next-most-used size after the 4-cup size. The 2-cup sizes are SO handy for so many things that I couldn't do without them. The 1-cup size is indispensable for when you need a tiny one! Some people sort of complain about the smaller sizes that are included in most of the sets, but I find the smaller sizes so useful for so many things that I couldn't do without them. I love, love, love these bowls. I wanted some non-plastic bowls that could be used for food storage, freezing and microwaving, and these fit the bill. They are also very pretty (imo). They have clean, simple lines and fit in very well with my modern kitchen. I love them for serving, which I didn't expect.
In regard to the perople who said they wished there were more large-sized bowls and fewer small sized... I ccan see wanting more large bowls, but I really do appreciate the larger ones, as well. I like to soak beans and then freeze them in small container for recipes, and the small bowls are perfect. I could see freezing things like basil for pesto, etc.
They are the best bowls ever. Get them !!!

I just received my set of pyrex round bowls. This is my second set because I'm replacing all plastic. I'm glad I got them now, because the price just jumped $13 in one day. The tops are a bit challenging to put on at times, because they are so snug in fit. Also, they're made in the USA. Good product.

My husband got me this set of bowls for christmas. Unfortunately, they arrived completely broken. We didn't even have to open the pyrex box to know it - you could hear all the small and large pieces of glass rolling and rattling around inside the box. It sounded awful. We requested a replacement set, which amazon sent us using 1 day shipping! I was very impressed. We also were able to print out a prepaid shipping label to send the first poor broken set back. I noticed that the replacement set they sent was not in the original pyrex box - it was in a plain brown cardboard box and each piece was very carefully wrapped so breakage could not occur - we wonder if amazon is repacking these sets on their own or if they are forcing pyrex to for any returns. In any case, if it had been packed that carefully to begin with, we wouldn't have had the broken glass all rattling around inside the original box!
Now that I have my new set of (unbroken) bowls, I couldn't be happier. I already had a few small pyrex bowls with lids which is why I knew I'd like this large set. I, like others, have been getting tired of using the plastic bowls for storage....they get stains that won't come off and if you try to microwave with them, the food tastes "off." I love that the bowls in this pyrex set are all different sizes - great for storing a variety of things. Overall a great product.

We have tried to replace all of our plastic storage containers for glass, due to concerns about the chemicals in plastic. I already owned two of these sets, so when I saw it as a lightening buy from Amazon, I grabbed it. Lids fit well, containers can go into the freezer, they clean easily (no red staining from tomatoes), and they stack.
