I ordered this set because I was looking for a very basic decorating set. It has all the very basic decorating tips; perfect for the casual decorator. The decorating bag is a nice size, and easy to clean; you are able to put in a fair amount of frosting without having it overflow out the top of the bag. I really like the "pipe cleaner" tool for cleaning out the decorating tips. The storage case is very handy too.

The first time I tried this, it turned out great! One trick that is helpful: spray the inserts with no-stick cooking spray each time before pouring the batter - it helps a lot. My squares weren't as perfect as they are in the photo, but it still works great.



You can also have lots of fun with white cake mix and food coloring. I did a yellow and blue checkerboard cake that turned out great.

I just tried a flower-shaped bread tube this weekend with homemade butter roll dough, and it worked wonderfully! If you are a baker or have a friend who is, this is quite a neat idea. My fear was that the pan would not release the bread, but the shaped loaf positively Fell Out! I plan to try a variety of things including making seasoned croutons for a unexpected, special touch for salads.



After spraying the interior with cooking spray, the dough is put into the tube and allowed to rise. The lid is then added and the tube is baked in the oven with the perforated top pointed upward. Easy as pie- nothing to it! The included instructions suggest using them as cutters as well as a baking form.

This was a very disappointing pan set. The pans are very thin tinplate, as is the divider apparatus. The divider in my set did not fit tightly against the bottom of the pan, necessitating using one hand to hold the divider pressed down while putting the batter in the rings with the other. The divider is very sharp metal and cut me the first time I washed it. Also, once the cake layers are frosted and stacked, the checkerboard effect is greatly diminished. I'm returning this set and if I decide to give this another try, I will order the Norpro set with plastic divider and non-stick pans.

I bought these for making up individual pot pies to keep in the freezer for future use. They're a nice size for this, and really are non-stick. I bought two sets so I could make up 8 pies at a time. One good feature is that pies can be frozen in the pans and then popped out to have the pans ready to make the next batch before all the frozen ones are gone. When reheating (in the microwave) I place the individual pies in individual microwaveable serving bowls.
