These pots are easy to care for but not dishwasher safe so remember that they are great on any stove. I use propane and they cook quickly and evenly. I would purchase more of these. The soup pot needs to be a little bigger but you can purchase that seperately.

i registered for these after reading reviews (everywhere but amazon or i would have thought twice) and seeing them at bed bath and beyond. i liked that they were not too heavy, nonstick, hard anodized and i thought the calphalon name was a good one. i got the set and 3 pieces had already been slightly damaged due to the packaging rubbing too hard against the non stick surface. i didn't think it looked too bad though and decided to keep them. storage was a whole other problem. i don't have a pot rack and used to keep my old set nested inside each other in the drawer under my stove. since the finish will get scratched if they rub against each other i had to completely reorganize my cabinets so i could find space for all of the pieces. i ended up nesting them anyway but have to keep an old dish towel between each piece so nothing touches. about a week after getting them i made pasta in one of the pots. i added some basil, oil, red pepper flakes and garlic salt and stirred it (with a wooden spoon) around until i heard and felt it scratch. i dumped out the pasta and there was a 3 inch scratch from the garlic salt i guess. so that did it for me. i know you are supposed to be careful with the nonstick finish and i am. i have all silicone, nylon or wooden utensils. i clean them properly. but it is too much of a hassle now worrying the food will scratch it too. i am returning this set today and buying a stainless steel set.

The main purpose of non-stick cookware is easy cleaning. That purpose is totally defeated in this cookware because the nonstick interior is interrupted by the aluminumin rivets with which the handles are attached - food sticks to them, and around them. I am soooo sorry I bought this!! I was replacing 20-year old T-Fal that was simply worn out. I should have stuck with T-Fal (bad pun intended).

I was given this set a year and a half ago and so far have had to send back three pieces because of the nonstick finish. I will say I like cooking with the anodized - it heats faster and retains heat well so it is easier to cook with. But the nonstick finish they put on this cookware is terrible. It flakes off and scratches easily. I baby them, follow all directions, etc. only use silicone or wood utensils. In my opinion the surface should not scratch if you are using an approved utensil. Calphalon has been good about honoring their warranty and have replaced everything I sent back so far but I am getting tired of having to keep sending things back. As money permits I am gradually replacing mine with Le Creuset. I don't know if the higher end Calphalon is better, but I can't bring myself to spend the money on it with the experience I've had with this set.

I bought a similar set at Macy's. The containers are light and they work well in microwave and regular ovens. But I'm really disappointed with the quality of the plastic lids:



1. The get scratched very easily. I didn't use anything rough to wipe them, only kitchen towels, and still I see scratch marks on them.



2. They get stained easily. I put one of the lids in the dishwasher along with some dishes that had spaghetti sauce on them. The lid came out badly stained.



3. The lids do not easily come off of the containers. You're supposed to pull up the corner piece of the lid to take it off, but mot of the times it doesn't come right off. You're screwed if you have hot, soupy or saucy food in the container because there's no way to take the lid off without burning your hands or spilling what's inside.

I am a fan of corningware and corelle products for lot of reasons. The traditional pyroceram dishes and the french white line of dishes are nice but pretty heavy for somebody who has joint pains or wrist problems. This item is a life savor for such people because it is very light. It also occupies less space as they do stack very well as compared to other dishes. If you carefully see the box and the instruction paper, you can learn to stack them well, including the lids!



The only reason why I did not give a five star is that I wish, apart from the white color which they currently have, they could also have some tiny designs/ prints so that they can look more pretty and also match with other corningware/ corelle items. Also there are pyrex glass lids for only two dishes and the other two have only plastic lids. May be they could sell them separately too.



This product is very well priced too on Amazon. BTW, some locations of Sam's Club sell this item even less than Amazon (about $38 approx). However, they are soon going to discontinue this product. Thats what one of their store managers told me.

1) Product photos cleverly "suggest" they stack inside one another. They do not.



2) For some reason only 2 of 4 sizes come with glass lids - all 4 do have plastic lids.



3) Unlike another review, I do NOT have Arthritis and find it very difficult to remove plastic lids; especially when dish comes out for the refrigerator. Look at the photo and ask how you would hold the dish as you pry-up on lid-removal TAB? The rounded bottom makes this an interesting task.

I purchased this set at the beginning of December and it came with a 12" everyday pan free. Overall I am very happy with this set. It is made in the USA, although the free everyday pan is made in China. I have owned several other pieces of Calphalon nonstick cookware, some made in the USA and some in China. It has been my experience that the Calphalon made in the USA under goes stricter quality control tests and the nonstick coating last longer. On a side note Calphalon pieces stamped "Toledo, OH" on the bottom are made in the USA. These piece are made in the spirit of the legendary Calphalon quality. Calphalon pieces made in china are of average quality at best.



I enjoy cooking with this set because almost nothing sticks and when it does clean up is a breeze. Usually I just fill the pan up with soapy water, wipe it with a sponge and anything cooked on comes right off. The silicone covered handles stay cool. These pans are not dishwasher safe and you can not use cooking spray on them. Only use plastic or wooden utensils on low to medium heat.

I have been using this set for two weeks now and I am IN LOVE. I do the butter test every time and it makes a world of difference. Food heats thoroughly and comes out amazingly.



I wash everything by hand, air dry and I don't stack the pans.

A great set of cookware. Heats evenly and cleans easily. Beware...these cannot be washed in a dishwasher...if so, it voids the warranty. Luckily foods don't stick. There are a few tips on how to keep foods from sticking if there are issues. Also, you can't use cooking spray like Pam in them. A drop of olive oil is all you need in most cases. I love them!

We purchased this set from another venue.



When you first open the box and see the new set you are thrilled. Especially if your old set that you just replaced was horrible.



BUT after you have had it a while you start to realize that owning this set of cookware requires a LOT of effort on your part to keep it looking nice.



The bottoms darken easily and need constant attention to make them look good.



On our particular set, the largest saucepan interior was "bubbled". Well....we are NOT everyday cooks in this house and it only took a few months for the interior finish to begin chipping off the pan.



We had to go out and buy all new utensils and special scrubbers etc. to clean these pans. Most things we had in our drawer just didn't work well with this set. Stick a metal fork in it once and IT'S DONE!



Remember....NO dishwashers, NO metal utensils, NO harsh chemicals, NO abrasive scrubbers, NO cooking spray, NO stacking of pans, NO contact with other surfaces or the exterior WILL scratch!



In short....these pans take your full attention but when you buy anything worth having, you are willing to expend the extra energy and time to take good care of it.



If it weren't for the interior surface chips, I would have to give this set an "ALMOST PERFECT" score!!!!!

I love these pans! With that said, I did manage to ruin one. I baked a bread pudding in the square pan. After it cooled I put it into the refrigerator. The nonstick peeled off the pan and stuck to my bread pudding.

Great minds think alike. I bought this set for my daughter for Xmas and oddly she bought the exact same set for me for Xmas.



To begin with I was in love with this set. But I am keeping a close eye on it. It seems that the more I use the pans, items are beginning to stick to the bottoms.



I have never put these in the dishwasher....always washed by hand and dried immediately. I have also never used any type of cooking spray on them as I find this tends to ruin pans and make them impossible to clean.



I am hoping this doesn't become a problem in the future, as I really do like the set. It seems well constructed and well worth the money. My pans are calphalon also and I wouldn't trade them for anything.



Cake pans are small ones and so are the bread pans...not full size.
