 "A good set" 2010-04-06
By Kejebu (Minnesota)
These corning ware sets are much lighter weight than the

traditional ones. I got a set for my mother in law who

can't lift very well anymore. My set and hers have different

serving holders, mine are a little clunky, it would be

easy for the dish to come out if you didn't hold the

handles just right. Overall though they seem durable

are easy to wash and are handy to have around.

 "smashed" 2010-03-29
By amateur cook (NY)
Corning ware was so poorly packed that every piece was broken. When I picked up the box it sounded like a huge rattle for a baby. The supplier was not Amazon, and because of that for some reason the item could not be replaced. VERY unsatisfactory purchase. A nuisence overall

 "LOVE, love, LOVE." 2009-11-29
By R. Sparks (Norman, Oklahoma United States)
GREAT set of bowls. Colorful, durable and convenient. Really nice selection of sizes, too. Ignore the fact that it has Martha Stewart's name on it; there's nothing wrong with these bowls.

 "Arrived broken" 2009-07-17
By Joshdog (New York)
My largest bowl also arrived broken. Unfortunately, I didn't notice it before I had already thrown out the box and now can't return them.

Normally, I would just assume bad luck and give this a slightly higher rating. However, given that someone else had this same issue - twice - I have to assume there is some defect with these bowls. BTW, the shipping container and packing box were in excellent condition, so hard to blame this on abuse in transit. This certainly doesn't bode well for long-term reliability, either.

If there weren't issues with breakage, I would probably lean towards three stars. Bowls feel solid, but they don't have non-slip bottoms, which would be helpful for mixing. Also, the colors are a mixed-bag - some are nice others are pretty ugly.

Who would have thought that it would be so difficult to find a decent set of stacking mixing bowls?

"Not microwave safe - not stated on box" 2009-01-10
By D. Adams
I bought the bowls directly from Macy's. When I opened them, there was a warning on the bottom of each bowl not to use in the microwave. This was not mentioned on the box - only that they are "versatile". Not very versatile to me. Other than that, they are pretty and nice sizes. I will just have to warn the other family members not to use them in the microwave, and hope they remember.

 "Fantastic" 2008-12-09
By KCMOM (Liberty, MO)
I received these as a gift and I love them! They are much lighter and more durable than the ceramic set I was using before and the colors are much nicer. They do great in the dishwasher and they seem practically indestructible.

"BOWLS WILL BREAK IN SHIPPING" 2008-11-11
By M. Sewell
I had these bowls sent to me and they arrived with the largest one broken. I sent them back and they were reshipped to me, and they arrived again, broken. I finally gave up and had Macy's refund me, but they refused to refund the shipping and handling, which was roughly $7. 3 months have elapsed and I've lost money and still have no bowls! Such a disappointment. I will not shop with Macy's again.

I've seen these bowls for the same price at Target - do the legwork! Bring home unbroken bowls!

 "Just Love these!" 2009-11-20
By Lovey (United States)
I love the dual edges giving two sets of cutters for the price of one. But, because of the dual edge, you must be very careful pushing down on these as the edges on both sides is sharp. Both sides make nice clean cuts. The one thing I'd suggest to the company is to put these into a convenient and safe metal tin as some other cookie cutter manufacturers do.

 "great item" 2009-07-12
By P. S. Clark
These are the best cutters. Both sides are cutters....one crinkled and one straight so they are very versatile.

 "They're okay" 2009-04-02
By Ashley Ravel (Michigan)
I got these because of the free shipping, there were several in the set and the little tin. They arrived on time, the tin is cute and the size of the cutters is decent. However, they're very thin. As in, I could easily mush one into a ball if I wanted to. I would say try another product.

Chicago Metallic Commercial 6-Piece Bakeware Set

Buy Cheap Chicago Metallic Commercial 6-Piece Bakeware Set

Buy Low Price From Here Now
Chicago Metallic Commercial bakeware is manufactured to meet the exacting standards of commercial bakers and consumers who prefer the tradition ob baking on uncoated pans. Each pan is crafted from heavy-weight aluminized steel that combines the durability, strength and superior heat conduction of steel with the tough corrosion-resistance of an aluminum alloy. The extremely durable pans heat quickly and evenly to ensure uniform baking. With use, the pans darken slightly, increasing the ability to absorb heat. There is no need to adjust the oven temperature called for in recipe. Safe for use with all utensils. Metal utensils may scratch the pan but will not affect its performance. The pans are finished with rolled rims. Pans won't rust or warp and are dishwasher safe. The Chicago Metallic 6-piece Bakeware set includes: 9-inch Cake Pan (2); 1-pound Loaf Pan; 12-cup Muffin Pan; 13 by 9-inch Bake N Roast Pan; 15 by10-inch Cookie/Jelly Roll Pan

 "Excellent new bakeware" 2010-01-27
By SLG (UK)
Arrived in perfect condition and very quickly. Good range of sizes. Easy to use and clean.

"Great baking pans and a great set" 2009-12-06
By G. Scott (New Orleans, LA USA)
This is an excellent set of high quality baking pans that deliver quality results consistently. With these standard sizes, its a good starter set as well. These pans don't rust and don't have non-stick coatings to get scratched and start peeling into your baked goods (delivering who-knows-what-kind-of-chemicals as well!)I expect this set to last me a lifetime, and while I have added other pieces from Chicago Metallics to my bakeware to finish a basic set up, this was the cornerstone set. Cakes come out more evenly baked, cookies bake consistently, bread bakes consistently and muffins/cupcakes are consistent. I was so tired of pulling pans out of the cupboard after months of disuse only to discover that they were crusted with rust (Gotta love Louisiana's humidity!)or discovering that the non-stick coating was starting to peel, rendering the pan useless. I also did not like how cookies baked on a non-stick cookie sheet, nor how cakes reacted to the non-stick finish.

I'd buy this again, and I'd recommend this set to anyone who was serious about baking.

 "Top quality bakeware" 2009-02-07
By Pam Shepard (Middle Tennessee)
I've been baking for over 50 years now, using many various brands of bake/cookware. Chicago Metallic is the best, hands down. I prefer the Commercial line and have been using it for several years. It's very easy to clean, foods cook perfectly, and never, ever stick. I highly recommend this superior product line.

 "Disappointing" 2009-01-07
By Donna P. Tippo (Mashpee, Ma)
I purchased this set as part of a Christmas gift and was so disappointed when my daughter called to say one of the baking sheets had a puncture in it.Pretty disappointing to her when she was ready to bake cookies!

 "Great Bakeware" 2008-11-02
By C. Bernard (Baltimore, MD)
America's Test Kitchen highly recommends Chicago Metallic bakeware. I love this set. It is very sturdy without being too heavy. This is perfect for baking as it doesn't burn or over-brown baked good like some non stick bakeware does.

 "Excellent mixing bowls" 2010-02-11
By Edward Alfano (Staten Island, New York)
The wife loves these bowls. They are sturdy and when she creates something that needs to be refrigerated or not used immediately, the covers fit like a glove. They were not overpriced as far as I can tell and if my wife is happy, so am I.

"The lids disform if microwaved" 2010-01-17
By Barry Tegeler (Michigan)
I purchased these 2 sets of these bowls based on Amazon reviews. The lids pop off in the fridge even when putting cool items in for storage; they also curl up in the microwave. The glass is very ordinary, nothing special. Since I bought them to use as a convenient way to reuse leftovers I wasted my money, I had plenty of other better mixing bowls.

"Good for mixing, and storing food too" 2009-10-25
By boomer
Nearly "vertical" sides, so mixing with a hand-blender works better than other brands.

We ordered a second set after using the first set we purchased for a month or so.

They come with lids, so they seem to end up storing food in the refrigerator on a regular basis... thus the second set was needed :)

Price was very good, but you will still need to buy a 4-Quart or 5-quart bowl separately because this set doesn't have one in that size range.

 "Excellent!" 2009-04-27
By Rod Macdonell (Tampa)
These are excellent bowls. The lids fit securely, and are very sturdy. I love them!

 "Love these bowls!!" 2008-07-22
By Shell (CA)
These bowls are great. They are very deep for mixing things up and the lids seal really well. These are the first bowls that I grab when needing to store something. Very nice product.
